Whether you have just moved into your first home, or decided that the time has come to update your existing bathroom, it is important to select a style that you can live with. Investing in a quality bathroom suite as well as tiles is a worthwhile commitment, but there are also some quick fixes to consider for those on a budget.

We don’t tend to spend too much time in the bathroom, but ultimately your style choice is a personal preference. For some it’s about creating a relaxing spa style environment with minimal clutter, opting for lots of storage can help with this as well as using large format tiles, try stone or wood effect tiles from the Tileworks collection or add a metallic mosaic to add atmosphere. For a traditional style, classic Winchester bricks are a gorgeous addition to creating a calm and serene bathroom.

Tiles are a popular choice for walls and floors which is no surprise as they are so easy to clean and highly durable. For minimal grout lines choose large format tiles, marble effect tiles from the Tileworks collection are created using inkjet technology and are a great dupe for the real thing, they are also an affordable alternative and will look great for years to come! Mosaics are great if you have a small space you need updating like a sink splash back, choose from a huge variety of styles like hexagon, glass and even stone.

Lighting and Size

Much like any room in the home it’s important to consider the size and lighting of your space.  You may decide on your tiles after selecting your fixtures and fittings, certain styles work better with different finishes. Traditional suites look beautiful when teamed with tiles from the Artworks collection, their highly reflective glazes are brilliant for adding the illusion of extra space.

Bathrooms of course look beautiful in the classic black and whites, but it’s also a great place to incorporate some colour! Check out our blog on creating a coastal style bathroom , blues are brilliant to help create a calm and relaxing space. To really make a statement try Aurora Borealis glass tiles from our Glassworks collection as pictured below. For something more minimalist try Glassworks brick or field tiles, they come in a variety of sizes and colours with something to suit every colour scheme!
