Embrace the Blues

The cold weather snap and long dark nights have got many of us feeling the January Blues but one of this year’s Pantone colours ‘Serenity Blue’ has us dreaming of beautiful blue interiors.

Blue is a really versatile colour and can look dramatically different depending on where it's used and the shade. Dark blues such as Lapis from the Winchester Tile Company can look striking in a bathroom or kitchen setting and aren't quite as harsh as using black. Try using dark blue as an accent colour, inky blues paired with crisp whites work beautifully well together, like the bathroom pictured below.

Blue is also a great colour for adding warmth which is surprising given its reputation as a cold colour. Blues like Indigo and Cobalt have wonderfully rich undertones which can add depth to your interior, try some blue jewelled like mosaics like Crystal Blue for this look to add some glamour as well as warmth.

If you love the idea of incorporating blue into your space but don't want to fully commit have a look at our pattern tiles in blue.  Introducing a small amount of colour is a great way of lifting a room to add some atmosphere. Lighter hues of blue coupled with darker shades create a focal point for walls or floors - try Persian from the Odyssey collection pictured at the top of the page.
