Spring Greens and Blue Skies

With blue skies, longer days and a little sunshine lifting everyone’s mood, spring is the perfect time to get busy with your home renovations, especially with all the bank holidays ahead. There is something uplifting about spring which suggests new beginnings and a fresh start, so what better time to begin your project!

Colour
A neutral pallet will work well all year round, cool tones of grey and warm creams act as a perfect canvas to interchange accessories and fabrics, but colour can be just as timeless. Try using mint greens or pale blues, pastels are extremely popular at this time of year and their soft hues look beautiful in every season. Choose from many of the pastel shades from The Winchester Tile Company, their wonderfully glossy glazes reflect the light making them a great choice for small and large spaces.

For more of a colour commitment try some deeper shades from the Artworks collection, deep blues and greens will add life to any drab kitchens or bathrooms. It doesn't have to be full on either, a small splash of colour used carefully adds a brilliant focal point, mosaics are ideal for this especially when using as a panel teamed with whites and greys.

Texture
If you're embarking on a spring makeover but already have your colour scheme sorted, have you considered adding texture? To really bring the outdoors in try Bamboo from the Tileworks collection, as pictured at the top of the page in the moodboard, it works well with pastels and neutral colours, as well as deeper shades.

If your spring interior makeover focuses on an all-white theme then take a look at Form, Couche and Kirigami - these tiles will add dimension to your walls and are a refreshing take on plain white tiles.

Details
For a nod to sunny spring days we love drop in feature tiles like bees, butterflies or flowers, try using these in a cloakroom for added detail. Patterns are also a good choice, the Odyssey collection is home to plenty of dusky tones and pastel accents as well as plenty of warmer colours too.
