Take a closer look at wood-effect porcelain tiles

If you love the look of wooden floors (and why not walls as well?) why not consider the benefits of faux wood instead? Tileworks is our collection of stylish contemporary tiles which include a range of incredibly realistic wood effect tiles made from porcelain or ceramic.

Here are seven reasons for faking it and choosing porcelain planking over timber boards in 2018:

  • Faux wood tiles really do look like wood, with plenty of choice from pale and distressed to dark and moody tones, and plenty of sizes too
  • Wooden flooring has always been in style, but there are some areas where wood and wooden laminates are simply just not practical. Take bathrooms and kitchens, where constant exposure to water can seriously damage wood and laminates – just wipe up the spills if you’ve installed wood effects
  • Some of our wood effect tiles are rated as slip resistant too, so they can be used in wet areas (even shower floors) with confidence
  • Slip resistant wood effect tiles can be used outside as well. Go for the seamless inside/outside look for kitchens/dining rooms/hallways
  • Low maintenance porcelain tiles are easy to keep clean with no need for regular wax, wood oil or other special treatments often required for real woods
  • Long lasting and very hard wearing, making porcelain planks an ideal choice for heavy traffic areas
  • Direct sunlight won’t cause fading on porcelain wood effects as it will with wooden planking
