Spring Fever: trends and decorating ideas

Signs of Spring are starting to show here in Devon, and not a moment too soon! After a particularly long and wet winter, warm sunshine and cheery daffodils are a welcome sight. Now that we’re turning away from trying to feel perpetually cosy, we’re starting to miss bright colours and fresh palettes once again. But what’s new for Spring this year?
Pastels are extremely popular at the moment, with soothing mint greens becoming a particularly strong trend. One of the most popular ways to use fresh mint is combined with metallic detailing such as gold.
As ever, Spring conjures images of fresh flowers in zesty shades. Yellow is always a favourite due to its connection with Spring’s poster boy, the daffodil. Including drop in feature tiles of flowers in a splashback or feature wall can be an excellent way of channelling a Spring vibe year round, and is sure to raise a smile, even in the depths of winter.
Floral tiles with a more contemporary edge (like Seville, shown top) are a great way of introducing spring details into a more modern environment. Abstract designs in the Odyssey collection are suggestive of blooms without being twee. Combined with a contemporary palette of rich indigos, vibrant reds and cool greys, the look is effortlessly chic.
